A Level Designer's Wish List

I'm taking a break from my normal routine of blogging about projects to create a list of things I'd love to have. Because my passion and career are one in the same, my holiday list is pretty level-design oriented and a few of the items are things I'm working towards getting to assist in that capacity.

It's no secret: I love books. I already have a Kindle (such a fantastic investment), but sometimes there are titles that are better to have in an analog form. Below are a list of books I'm trying to acquire.

Level Design: Concept, Theory, Practice
Lighting and Rendering
A Writer's Guide to Character Traits
Collector's Edition Skyrim Guide

Both the Level Design and Digital Lighting books were recommended to me, but I've already read the Writer's Guide and would love to have it as a permanent asset in my library. And since I collect art books and strategy guides I have to own the guide for Skyrim!

Some of the big items I've been scoping out this year are listed below. If I could swing getting just one of these I'd be a happy camper!

Canon EOS Rebel T2i

ASUS Eee Slate Tablet PC

Wacom Cintiq 12WX
Wacom Inkling

Razer Megalodon 7.1 Surround Sound USB Gaming Headset

Razer Kabuto/Scarab Mousepad

I have recently traded a friend for her Cintiq 12WX, which should be a nice upgrade from my Intuous 4. I'd love to try the Inkling, though, as I do a lot of sketching. I'm in dire need of a new mousepad and mic for working and gaming, and the 7.1 surround sound offered by the Megalodon is too awesome to pass up! The camera and tablet PC are super wish list items at this point, but who knows what will happen in the future.

And here are some things that don't really have a category, but are cool/useful in their own way!

36 x 24" Dry Erase Board
Game of Thrones Lannister Pendant

Having a whiteboard in the room near my desk is crucial to my productivity, and I need a new one since the move. As for the pendant, I'm going to represent my favorite (well second favorite, Dorne doesn't have a pendant yet) house: the Lannisters.
