Freedom Jam Night One

The guys over at Retora Studios are doing a game jam this weekend, and I'm helping out Brendan and Dennis with theirs. I made a video showing off what I'm doing (level design) and will make a few more as the jam progresses. It's been fun getting back into Unity 3D and working in a team; especially when my Dropbox begins to update with things like this:

I don't know how much I can divulge about the game or Retora's event (I may have already overstepped my boundaries, oh well) but the game's name is Ikertu. It's a third-person platformer that emphasis exploration and big, open levels to explore. The prototype level I'm designing is a forest that will have some neat musical mushrooms, among other things.

In other news I relaunched the portfolio website of Zak Robinson, www.splittingpolys.com/. I completely re-designed and coded the site in about three weeks, and I learned a lot. Now that I've finished it I can dedicate my time to getting ready for the move to St. Paul. After I'm situated in my new home I will continue to work on HeroCraft and post updates related to that. I do have several new art pieces in the works so I will do an intermediate post showing off the hard work of my talented team of artists. I'll post the next video on Ikertu's progress sometime tomorrow night.

  1. Keep up the good work Andrew. I've been catching up on your design blog and I'm really impressed with your Herocraft work. Can't wait to see the final product.

    1. Thanks Galen! I'm hoping to bring HeroCraft to market via Kickstarter later this year or in early 2014. I'll try to post more frequently and get a website up soon.
